Tickle Lipo, also know as nutational infrasonic liposuction, represents a significant advance in tumescent liposuction technique, allowing for comfortable, safe liposuction of multiple areas. Tickle Lipo requires no general or intravenous anesthetic, can be completed within 90 minutes, and usually allows patients to return to work the next day.

Low frequency, infrasonic vibration is used to gently loosen unwanted fat, which is then removed with a small cannula. The vibratory sensation is often felt by the patient as a tickle, and this tickling sensation is usually the only “discomfort” felt during the fat removal process.
Liposuction refers to the technique of removing unwanted fatty deposits between the skin and the muscle by using small cannulas attached to a suction pump. The most common body areas treated by liposuction include the abdomen (stomach), hips, thighs, and beneath the chin. In men, liposuction is frequently performed for the love handles and abdomen, as well as underneath the chin.
*Fat cells removed by liposuction do not grow back. Generally, if additional weight is gained after liposuction, the treated areas will not change as much (the remaining fat cells can still enlarge however). Good candidates for liposuction include healthy men and women of various ages who have localized areas of prominent fat accumulation, or “problem areas.”
The tumescent technique of liposuction involves using a very dilute solution of lidocaine and epinephrine (a numbing anesthetic and a blood vessel constrictor). By injecting this solution into the trreatment areas to the point of tumescence, or swelling of the skin and soft tissues, liposuction can then be performed in an almost bloodless, virtually pain free fashion. Most importantly, the tumescent technique negates the need for general anesthesia or deep intravenous sedation, significantly lowering the risk of complications.
All surgeries are associated with risks of swelling, bruising, and temporary numbness. The risks of infection, bleeding or nerve damage with tumescant liposuction are very low. After liposuction by the tumescent technique, patients are generally discharged home within 30 minutes to one hour. A compression garment is worn for several days and up to one week or longer to minimize bruising and swelling and to aid in drainage of excess fluid. Most patients typically return to normal activites within several days.
